MNsure is Minnesota's official health insurance marketplace, run by the state. It is where under-65 Minnesotans shop for individual and family health plans that meet Affordable Care Act standards, and it is the only place you can receive premium tax credits that lower your monthly cost. Every plan sold through MNsure covers essential health benefits, and no one can be turned down for a pre-existing condition.
Premium tax credits are based on your household income and family size for the coverage year, and they work on a sliding scale, so more people qualify than expect to. You can apply the credit directly to your monthly premium. Many Minnesotans assume they earn too much and never check, which is a costly mistake. We help you estimate your income accurately, which matters most for self-employed people with variable earnings.
Open enrollment typically runs from November 1 into mid-January, with exact dates announced each year. If you miss it, you need a Special Enrollment Period to sign up, which opens after qualifying life events such as losing other coverage, getting married or divorced, having a baby, or moving to Minnesota. Most Special Enrollment Periods give you about 60 days from the event, so act quickly.
No. Working with a MNsure-certified broker costs you nothing extra. Your premium is identical whether you enroll on your own or through us, because brokers are paid by the insurance companies rather than by you. There is no fee and no markup, and you get help comparing plans, estimating income for tax credits, and fixing problems mid-year.
Three quick steps. No obligation, no cost, no pressure.
